[advertise]广告[/advertise] 11/5/2009, China Telecom recently asked all its 3G network card customers to upgrade their software. Through this upgradation, these customers can directly use WiFi service in all hot area. Traditionally, Customers must input a password that they accquire from their cellphone before they can use Wifi service. The new WiFi service of China Telecom is more convient. With their CDMA 3G network, China Telecom tries to combine their CDMA network with WiFi network, and take it as a main competing advantage of them. On the other side, China Unicom is promoting their femto cell service. Although Unicom doesn't open WiFi function for their new iPhone customers, they still want to provide their 3G customer free service in their home by introducing femto service. According to China Unicom, this new femto service can support 5 cellphones and 1 PC to visit Internet at the same time. The femto cell base staion is sold 1200 RMB and the monthly charge is 10RMB. China Unicom has already introduced this service in northern 10 provinces of mainland China.
