Just yesterday, a Taiwan mobile service provider, Vibo Telecom launched the first TD-SCDMA trial network in Taiwan. Mr. Lou,qinjian, vice president of MIIT attended the ceremony in Taiwan. Vibo also planned to introduce TD/WCDMA dual mode cellphone in the future. Through cooperation with mainland China's service provider, Vibo hoped to get a better competitive advantage under the pressure from their competitors. They even hoped to introduce this dual mode cellphone to more countries around the world.
It was said that China had already 4 million TD subscribers since its launch. Up to the end of this year, TD network will cover 238 cities in mainland China, 1 billion population.
