[advertise]广告[/advertise]11/26/2009, Cooperation across Taiwan strait have become more close since last year. The most recent cooperation is in the IT field. Lead by Taiwan industrial technology research instititute(ITRI), some Taiwan enterprises will jointly build a wireless broadband trial network in mainland China. Where this trial network locates is not disclosed now. But according to Mr. Zheng, shengqing, project leader of video and optical communication team in ITRI, this will be decided in next month. MIIT (Minstry of Industry and Information Technology) of mainland China has recommanded 5 big cities for choosing. He wouldn't like to tell the name of these cities. For wireless broadband city project, there will be no technology problem, especially on hardware products for builders. The trial network will base on China's local 3G standard, TD-SCDMA. It is believed this technology has more advantages on spectrum effiency. With the large investment by China Mobile, many TD products supplier predict there will be a big increase on TD subscribers next year. In the future, Taiwan enterprises will put focus on developing applications that are welcomed in the trial network. According to Mr. Zheng, these applications can include big transportation vechile positioning, mornitoring, remote news reporting, wireless city guide etc. Taiwan enterprises have many exerience on this. Taipei is always thought an example on wireless broadband development around the world. In mainland China, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Tianjin all once introduced the concept of wireless city. But none of them really succeeded because local government wouldn't invest, also because there are no key applications. Not only in China, in North America, in Europe, all wireless city trial networks face the same problem. How about this time?
