This is the proposal made by Mr Xu long, deputy of China's national people congress, and general manager of China Mobile Guangdong branch. According to Mr. Xu, the future city should has a ubiquitous wireless network which can provide nearly omnipotent application. An example for Mr.Xu’s wireless city dream maybe the intelligent electricity network. Using 3G mobile communication network, this kind of intelligent electricity network can support intelligent warning, intelligent troubleshooting, intelligent control, intelligent data reading. Not only electricity network, a wireless network can provide a lot of convenience to city habitants’ usual life from acquiring public information, traffic control, home monitoring, to mobile bank, smart home network. In the future, with a cell phone, people can take bus, do shopping, check information, see a doctor, a cell phone is just like ID of a citizen. Then how to build this wireless city, according to Mr. Xu, Ggovernment must play a major role on this. There should be a special organization who is responsible for this, there should be a detailed plan, there should be some special policies, and the most important, government must make the public information shared among wireless service providers, application providers. For his Guangdong Mobile, Xu promised that they will invest at least 10 billion RMB to make their TD+WLAN wireless network cover all areas of the province.
