The income disparity between top executives and front-line workers has deteriorated since 2006, according to a survey by the All China Federation of Trade Unions (ACFTU), Xinhua reported Tuesday.
At 208 State-owned enterprises perused in the survey, top executives' income in 2008 was 18 times higher than that of general workers, said Zhang Shiping, an ACFTU official and a member of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conferences (CPPCC) National Committee, during a CPPCC panel discussion Tuesday in Beijing.
Adding to the inequity, payments for 14.4 percent workers were delayed and overtime work was a rampant tall order for 60.2 percent employees in 2009.
