This train was built by Chengdu Aircraft Industrial (Group) Co, a subsidiary of the Aviation Industry Corporation of China (AVIC), for the Shanghai Maglev Transportation Development Company, which ran China's first commercial maglev train in Shanghai in 2002. The high-speed maglev train boasts some features of planes, and is expected to be put into use during the Shanghai Expo, which starts in May. The train is also energy-efficient, the report said. When running at the speed of 400 km/h, it only consumes half the energy of a sedan.
