[advertise]广告[/advertise]5/5/2010, Wuhan Plastic, a Shenzhen stock market listed public company, today announced to change its focus from automobile plastic parts to cable TV service through capital exchange and non-public stock offering. Wuhan Plastic will become a new provincial cable TV service provider whose network covers Wuhan, Jingzhou, Yichang,Xiangfan and other important cities in Hubei Province. According to the contract, Wuhan Plastic will exchange its all capital and debts with Chutian digital TV ltd. of Hubei province. At the same time, Wuhan plastic will offer 205 million new shares and use the money to purchase all assets of Wuhan cable TV ltd. who has more than 1.2 million subscribers. Through this action, Wuhan plastic, or new Hubei cable, will be the first provincial cable TV service provider around mainland China. In mainland China, there was once a time that each city has a local cable TV service provider. These local cable service providers have close connections with local government, even SARFT(State administration of radio, film and television) can't control them wholly. For many years, SARFT want to build a national cable TV service provider but they always failed to do reach this target. One of the reasons of SARFT's failour is they don't have enough money to make the investment. On the other hand, Stock market provides a easy way for cable TV service providers to find money. But this was not encouraged by SARFT before the new triple play policy introduced by state council. Hubei Cable's action is also considered a sign for acceleration of Hubei's triple play. A new provincial cable TV service provider not only has more resource to compete with local telecom service providers, but also has more influence in the coming national cable service provider.
