5/13/2010,The FTTH Council Asia Pacific will host its annual FTTHCAP conference in Seoul from May 24 to May 26, 2010 at COEX, Seoul, Korea. This successful annual conference is now fast into it's 5th year and has become well known amongst many industry professionals. Following last year's successful conference held in Melbourne, Australia, the council has chosen South Korea for this year's annual conference due to the fact that Korea is one of the few early adapting countries where we can see the most advanced u-City at work and where FTTH has made it's foothold through all types of media. For example, Real IPTV via FTTH has been rolled out since 2009, and severe data rate take-ups by ISP-driven marketing competition has always been prominent. Using government driven Green IT policies, Korean ISP's have been sought for various FTTH applications and services with multiple experimental projects in all green and brown fields of the industry.
This year's conference will be attended by well known figures in the industry from across the globe. Presenting the latest trends, innovations and policies, professionals such as Mr. Kuldeep Goyal, Chairman of BSNL and Mr. Theirry Valette CTO of FTTx, France Telecom whom will be giving us an insight into current FTTH trends in India and France will no doubt be very interesting and enlightening.
Audiences will certainly be welcoming presentations such as “Market opportunities in Kazakhstan next generation fiber-based broadband networks and development plan in the future” by Mr. Kuanishbek Esekeyev, CEO and chairman of Kazakhtelecom and “Industry Cooperation: Building the National Broadband Network together, an update on the Australian NBN” by Dr. Paul Brooks, NBN Project Lead Communications Alliance/Australia.
Mr. See Joong Choi, Chairman of the Korea Communications Commissions and Mr. Chul Jeung Hwang, Director General of the KCC will also be initiating the opening speech and keynote address respectively.
This year's theme “Experience and Challenges in the Next Generation Network: Convergence, Green Growth and Visionary Services” will no doubt offer huge opportunities for professional network operators and vendors alike to share and learn experiences from each other in the evolutionary broadband network and also to seek for new opportunities in the green broadband network.
More than 500 industry professionals are expected to attend this year's conference which is an excellent platform for local professionals to network with their international peers and vice versa.
Those wishing to participate in this conference can apply for admission through the FTTH Council Asia Pacific website (http://www.ftthcouncilap.org/).
