6/28/2010, By Yan Weijue (chinadaiy.com.cn) Sudden gusts of 14-gale force winds lashed parts of Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region from last Friday to Saturday, overturning vehicles and causing trouble for traffic, Tianshanet.com.cn reported Monday.

The severely affected region includes a "30-kilometer wind zone" - from Pearl Spring (Zhenzhuquan) stop to Hongshanqu stop along Southern Xinjiang Railway (From Turpan to Kuerle), as well as a "100-kilometer wind zone" -from Shanshan stop to Liaodun stop on Lanzhou-Urumqi Railway.

Trains from Beijing, Shanghai, Hangzhou and other cities to Xinjiang ran behind schedule due to the strong winds, and some were canceled.
