August 26,2010, Beijing, In the news conference on 1st half year financial result, Mr. Wang,xiaochu, CEO of China Telecom, announces that they will increse 5billion Yuan capital investment in the 2nd half of this year. In year 2011, the total capital investment will increase from 40 billion to 50 billion. The added 15 billion Yuan investment will be all used in expanding broadband networks.

According to Wang, China Telecom has basicly realized 4Mbps bandwidth covering in mainland China, and they have realized 40% covering of 20Mbps bandwidth. China Telecom will invest more on FTTx broadband networks to further expand covering.

China Telecom has 59.23 million broadband subscribers by the end of July.
