Chatsworth, CA –– Source Photonics Inc., a leading provider of optical communication products used in telecommunication systems and data communication networks, today announces availability of6Gb/sand 10Gb/s single-fiber and 6Gb/s CWDM transceivers in the SFP+ form-factor.

To meet the rapidly increasing bandwidth requirements for antenna backhaul, Source Photonics has previously released 6Gb/s SFP+ transceivers based on the CPRI (Common Public Radio Interface) and OBSAI (Open Base Station Architecture Initiative) standards. The product portfolio of 6Gb/s 300m multi-mode, 2 km single-mode, and 10 km single-mode SFP+ transceivers has shipped in volume since the first half of 2010. Complementing this6Gb/s product offering, Source Photonics now announces additional interfaces, including 6Gb/s single-fiber and CWDM transceivers, as well as 10Gb/s single-fiber products. All are compliant to the SFF-8431 MSA for the SFP+ form factor, and the SFF-8472 MSA for electrical interface.

The 6Gb/s SFP+ BiDi product can meet the requirements of theFC-PI-4 standard, and the 10Gb/s version is based on the 10GBase-LR interface definition. Both the 6G and 10G products support bi-directional 10km transmission on a single fiber to enable greater fiber efficiency in new and existing base station to antenna optical links. The products support the full industrial temperature operating range from -40C to 85C for deployment in outdoor and indoor applications.

The 6Gb/s CWDM SFP+ is available in four different wavelengths and supports a distributed architecture where multiple remote antenna units are connected to a single base-station using WDM technology for fiber savings and deployment flexibility.

The 6G SFP+ CWDM and 6G/10G BiDi products complement the aggregate 6G SFP+ product portfolio in Source Photonics to offer complete antenna backhaul solutions. The 6G/10GBiDi and CWDM products are presently shipping in pilot-volumes and will be released for mass production in the second quarter of 2011.
