Sunnyvale, CA – July 30, 2012 – Infinera (NASDAQ: INFN), a leading provider of digital optical communications systems, will showcase the DTN-X platform, the industry’s first commercially available multi-terabit packet-optical transport solution, at the CableLabs® Summer Conference next week. The conference, open to CableLabs member companies and approved vendors, takes place August 5-7 at the Keystone Conference Center in Keystone, Colorado.
At the conference, in CableLabs’ demonstration area, Infinera product and technology xperts will demonstrate how photonic integration efficiently delivers high capacity coherent optical modulation and lowers total cost of ownership by reducing space and power, while increasing reliability. Infinera’s experts will show how platforms powered by photonic integrated circuits (PICs) provide cable operators with a simple, scalable and efficient solution to their optical networking challenges.
The new Infinera DTN-X platform has begun shipping to customers for deployment, including major cable operators. The DTN-X is the only optical network solution built using 500 Gb/s PICs, integrating more than 600 optical functions onto a pair of chips and delivering the world’s first 500 Gb/s FlexCoherent long haul super-channels that can reach up to 3,000 kilometers. The solution integrates 5 Tb/s of OTN switching and a GMPLS control plane enabling any service to be switched to any optical wavelength, providing cable operators a network solution that scales for the future, is simple to operate, and is quick to deploy new services.
Infinera’s solutions for cable operators include the Infinera DTN, a Digital ROADM-based long-haul and metro core platform; the Infinera ATN metro edge platform designed to provide scalable optical transport for access and commercial service aggregation; and Infinera’s DTN-X platform featuring 500 Gb/s long-haul super-channels. Infinera’s solutions are widely deployed by major U.S. MSOs in national backbone, regional, and metro applications.
