The miners have undergone examinations and have been meticulously cared for, said Dai Shili, a doctor at the Qianxinanzhou People's Hospital.

The miners' relatives came to visit them at the hospital on Monday, Dai said.

On July 25, a tunnel in the Anlilai Coal Mine in Pu'an county collapsed at 6:26 pm, trapping the five miners, according to the local rescue headquarters.

Fifty-three rescuers were sent underground to dig a tunnel to reach the miners when another collapse occurred at 2:15 pm on July 26, trapping the rescuers, the rescue headquarters said.

The rescuers were pulled out unscathed six hours later via a third newly-dug tunnel.

Rescuers found the five trapped workers at 7:20 pm Sunday and sent them to the hospital for treatment.
