Recently, driven by demand for high-speed transmission in AI servers and data centers, Taiwan's optoelectronics sector has shown robust performance. Multiple enterprises have posted significant year-on-year revenue growth, with their stock prices also rising.
In terms of overall revenue, combined earnings of 13 Taiwanese optoelectronics firms reached NT$10.579 billion (New Taiwan Dollar, same below) in Q2 2025, up 43% year-on-year. Among them, Lienya and Guangsheng saw Q2 revenue surge over 100% year-on-year; Shangquan, Dongdian, Xunxin and Tongxin grew over 45%; only Qianding reported a 17% year-on-year decline.
For individual stocks, Guangsheng won a major Malaysian data center order led by a U.S. client and started shipments in July. Its stock hit the daily limit on July 18, rising to NT$492.5. The company’s June revenue reached NT$1.05 billion (third-highest on record), with H1 cumulative revenue at NT$5.01 billion (+121.04% YoY) and order visibility through year-end. Benefiting from strong AI product demand, Lienya’s June revenue hit NT$184 million (+81.49% YoY), with H1 revenue at NT$1.007 billion (+68.9% YoY). Its indium phosphide (InP) epitaxy technology, core for 800G silicon photonics laser supply, pushed Q1 gross margin from 6% to 32%. Thanks to silicon photonics themes, Huanyu - KY reported June after-tax net profit of NT$70 million (+170.71% YoY), EPS NT$0.62, with June revenue up 62.14% month-on-month and 59.99% year-on-year.
Technological upgrading drives growth, with silicon photonics (CPO) and 800G technologies as dual engines. Huaxinguang’s 800G products saw volume shipments, with silicon photonics module orders rising, 预估 full-year revenue to grow over 70% YoY. Lianjun shifted to AI supply chain, with data center revenue share rising from under 20% in 2023 to 50% in H1 2025; its CPO process is ready, and 800G+ products are mass-producible. Shangquan holds over 20 silicon photonics packaging patents, with H1 revenue at NT$993 million (new H1 record, +59.9% YoY) and plans to mass-produce silicon photonics products in 2026.
Additionally, the previous InP substrate shortage has eased. Some mainland Chinese manufacturers opened exports; Taiwanese firms added Japanese and European suppliers. Lienya secured Japanese substrates via clients; Huanyu - KY’s inventory supports operations until September; downstream clients assisted in export license applications, boosting growth momentum.
Industry analysts note NVIDIA’s GB300 server launch in H2 will push transmission speeds to 1.6T, further lifting CPO demand. Taiwan’s optoelectronics firms have become key to AI infrastructure, with ample future growth momentum.
